Biographical Info

Founded in 1998, Kenana Knitters creates a range of plush toys, home decor, clothing and gifts using 100% natural wool, which has been home spun, plant dyed and hand knitted. With a mission to make significant social impact in rural Kenya by empowering women to take charge of their lives through dignified work, the organization employs over 250 knitters and spinners in a safe, family-friendly working environment.

Currently, Kenana Knitters exports to more than 10 countries around the world, with each item bearing the signature of the woman who created it.
